One person was killed and two others injured after a car smashed into a tow truck parked at the side of westbound Highway 407, east of Bramalea Rd.According to police, the Tow truck was servicing a vehicle with a windshield that had been broken by ice coming off another vehicle.

While the Tow truck was stopped, police say a woman driving a BMW hit the back of the truck. The car rolled onto its roof and slid about 120 metres and collided with a westbound Toyota.

Three people were taken to Brampton Civic Hospital. One person was pronounced dead and two others – including the Tow-truck driver – were treated for minor injuries.

The westbound lanes of Highway 407, from Bramalea Rd. to Highway 427, was closed for much of the day.
